About us

‏Bashar – Your Desert Guide

‏Hello! I’m Bashar, your desert companion and explorer of Wadi Rum

Wadi Rum is not just a destination for us – it is our home. Bashar was born and raised in the heart of the desert, growing up among the mountains, sand valleys and ancient rocks formations of this beautiful place. From young age, he learned the stories of the land from his family and elders, following traditional Beduin ways of life that have been passed down for generations.

He knows Wadi Rum beyond maps and guidebooks. Every valley, rock and mountain has its own story and Bashar knows them all – hidden paths, quiet places and viewpoints. For him, the desert is a living place, shaped by time, nature and Beduin heritage.

Wadi Rum was created to share this deep connection with travelers from around the world. Our goal is to offer not only tours and accommodation, but genuine desert experience guided by local knowledge, repect for nature and Beduin hospitality. When you stay with us, you are not just visiting Wadi Rum – you are experiencing it through the eyes of someone who has called it home all his life.

About our camp

Wadi Rum Trip sensut

Our family Beduin camp was founded in 2000 and grew naturaly from a very simple beginning. It all started with one tent prepared, where we welcomed travelers, cooked and shared everyday life in the desert. Hospitality has always been at the heart of what we do, long before the camp became it is today.

As time passed and more visitors came to Wadi Rum, we slowly expanded the camp. We added separate tents to give guests more privacy, while keeping the traditional Beduin style and atmosphere. Today, we offer classic goat-hair Beduin tents with shared bathroom for those who want a truly authentic experience and Deluxe tents with private bathrooms for guests who prefer a little more comfort. The heart of the camp is a large communal tent build in traditional Beduin style. It is a place to sit together, enjoy our traditional food and spend evenings by the fire and sharing stories.

The camp is located in the Am Sabata area, about 10 km from the village, in a quiet and peacefull part of Wadi Rum. Surrounded by open desert and towering rock formations, it offers beautiful views and deep sense of calm. Guests can sit by the outdoor fire, relax on the rocks in our seating areas, watch the breathtaking sunset behind the mountains and sand dunes and at night enjoy an amazing views of sky full of stars.

Our Bedouin guide

‏All our guides are proud members of the Zalabia tribe, the original Bedouins of Wadi Rum who have lived in this desert for generations.
‏Their deep knowledge of the land, traditions, and hidden paths ensures every guest experiences the true spirit of Wadi Rum.

‏During your stay, you can ride camels, go sandboarding, explore hidden canyons, and watch sunsets that stay in your memory forever.
‏Nights are for storytelling, music, and maybe a few desert jokes — trust me, the camels laugh at my jokes more than humans sometimes!

‏Our goal is simple: to give you a real, authentic Wadi Rum experience.
‏Whether you choose the cave or the family camp, you’ll leave with not just photos, but memories, stories, and a connection to the desert that lasts long after you’ve gone.
