Lawrence Spring, locally known as Abu Aineh, is one of the most famous natural landmarks in Wadi Rum Desert, Jordan. The spring is located on the side of a sandstone mountain and offers beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding desert valley.

The place became famous through T. E. Lawrence, also known as Lawrence of Arabia, who passed through Wadi Rum during the Arab Revolt. Although the spring existed long before his time, it later became associated with his name and is now known as Lawrence Spring.

For many generations, this small desert spring has been an important water source for local Bedouin tribes and their animals. Water is very rare in the desert, so natural springs like this one played an important role in traditional desert life.

Visitors usually stop here during a our Wadi Rum Jeep Tour . From the parking area, travelers can climb a short rocky path to reach the spring and enjoy a higher viewpoint overlooking the desert.

Along the path, you may notice small green plants growing around the water source. This creates a beautiful contrast with the red sandstone mountains and the dry desert landscape.

From the top of the hill, visitors can enjoy a wide panoramic view of Wadi Rum’s red sand valleys and dramatic rock formations. It is also a perfect place for photography.

Lawrence Spring is located about 2 kilometers from Wadi Rum Village, and it usually takes around 5–10 minutes by jeep to reach the site.

Today, Lawrence Spring remains one of the most popular stops in Wadi Rum desert tours and is included in most jeep tour routes because of its history, views, and natural beauty.
